Zahnärztekasse AG is Switzerland’s leading provider of financial services for dental practices, supporting about 1,000 dentists from its Wädenswil headquarters. As the company digitized services and virtualized its infrastructure, rising cyber threats, the need to protect sensitive patient data and upcoming Swiss data protection law requirements made strengthening IT security and achieving compliance a top priority.

Working with AGIBA, Zahnärztekasse deployed VMware NSX Data Center and vRealize Network Insight—implemented in four days—to micro-segment and isolate critical systems, gain full visibility of VM-to-VM traffic, and enforce security policies. The result: improved protection for customers and staff, centralized management, major resource consolidation, faster deployment, and a leap in throughput (about 20 Gbit/s per host vs. 5–6 Gbit/s previously) with a total data center firewall capacity of 100 Gbit/s.
