A VMware Case Study
The Municipality of Hardenberg (serving ~60,000 residents) and its 18 ICT staff support about 600 municipal employees and also provide ICT services to the neighbouring municipality of Ommen. Aging storage and host hardware caused slow desktops, limited scalability, fragmented administration and inadequate security, threatening user experience, uptime and business continuity.
In partnership with PQR Hardenberg implemented a hyper-converged, software-defined datacentre using VMware vSAN, NSX and Horizon (including a vSAN stretched cluster). The result is a centrally managed, highly available and scalable environment with redundant storage, much faster end-user performance (notably in Ommen), VM-level micro-segmentation for improved security, and rapid failover that preserves business continuity while simplifying administration.
