A VMware Case Study
VMware customer Grinnell Mutual, an insurance company, faced the challenge of modernizing its software development to overcome significant technology debt and accelerate the delivery of new application features. Developers wanted to utilize containerization but needed the right cloud environment to do so effectively.
VMware implemented a solution using its VMware Cloud Foundation to build a self-service private cloud. This provided developers with the benefits of public cloud services while maintaining the control and security of a private cloud. As a result, Grinnell Mutual expects to save over $1 million a year in infrastructure costs by using vSAN instead of a discrete storage appliance, while also streamlining IT management and enhancing security.
