GILAI is an IT service provider for Switzerland’s disability benefit agencies, covering about 80% of the market after doubling in size. Faced with the complexity of supporting 19 cantons with differing compliance rules, GILAI needed to increase operational efficiency, contain IT costs, reduce maintenance overhead and ensure highly available, secure services so agencies could focus on delivering timely benefits.

To meet those goals GILAI built a nearly fully virtualized private cloud and deployed VMware solutions (NSX, vRealize Automation, vRealize Network Insight, Horizon, Site Recovery Manager and vRealize Suite) to centralize management, automate service delivery and segment networks. The result: improved IT efficiency with no headcount increase despite growth, consistent application performance, stronger data isolation for compliance, faster provisioning and a scalable, reliable platform that frees the team to focus on higher‑value work.
