A VMware Case Study
Gallus Group, a St. Gallen–based supplier of label-printing systems with a global sales and service organisation, faced a fragmented IT landscape that made it hard to provide secure, always‑available access to company data, rapidly onboard temporary or new staff, and support mobile or remote work with a small IT team. Decentralised infrastructure and legacy systems increased management overhead and risk, so the business needed a fast, flexible and secure way to standardise end‑user computing.
Working with Business IT AG, Gallus centralised and standardised its client environment on VMware (expanding its virtual desktop estate to roughly 400 seats and upgrading server and storage infrastructure), replaced outdated endpoints and implemented 24/7 operational support. The result is a secure, highly available and easy‑to‑manage platform that speeds provisioning, reduces repetitive support work and costs, enables BYOD and remote work, and positions IT as a strategic partner for the business.
