AU Small Finance Bank, a Jaipur‑based Fortune India 500 small finance bank with over 11,500 employees and operations across 11 states, deployed more than 5,000 tablets and smartphones to its fieldforce to serve underbanked customers. With much of its staff working outside branch infrastructure, the bank faced the challenge of centrally managing those devices, preventing unauthorized use and third‑party vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with RBI requirements for native encryption of financial and customer data.

VMware Workspace ONE was implemented to provide centralized device and application management, locked‑down kiosk mode, secure browsing, and administrator‑defined compliance policies. The platform blocked unauthorized app installs and data transfers, enforced encryption before transmission, and gave AU Bank a single portal to manage devices—delivering a secure, scalable and cost‑effective digital workspace that met RBI guidelines and tightened control over field devices.
