A VMware Case Study
PT. Bank Pundi Indonesia Tbk is a retail bank focused on providing rural micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Indonesia with quick access to finance. Its legacy, hardware-centered IT infrastructure caused very slow provisioning (up to three months per server), manual capacity monitoring, frequent server downtime (2–3 times a year) and high space, power and maintenance costs, limiting the bank’s ability to deliver timely credit and services.
Bank Pundi virtualized its environment with VMware vSphere with Operations Management (vSOM), gaining automated management, better capacity insights and faster provisioning. As a result, loan processing and approvals can now be completed within a day, capital and operating expenditures dropped by up to 75%, annual server downtime was eliminated, and disaster recovery time fell from up to a week to about a day.
