Case Study: Endress+Hauser InfoServe achieves SAP HANA deployment and a standardized, centrally managed IT platform with VMware

Endress+hauser Group Relies on Vmware to Implement Sap Hana

Endress+Hauser InfoServe, the IT service provider for global instrumentation and process‑automation group Endress+Hauser, set out to simplify a heterogeneous data center and convert all SAP systems to SAP HANA. The move threatened a costly, complex migration because existing SAP installations ran on IBM mainframes that did not support HANA, so the team needed to standardise platforms and avoid a bare‑metal overhaul.

They virtualised SAP using VMware vCloud Suite Advanced on Dell Intel x86 hardware, creating a software‑defined data center that unified SAP and non‑SAP workloads. The result is a single, centrally managed platform running all core ERP and BW systems (VMs increased from ~900 to 1,600), faster operations, merged teams, significant cost and time savings, and an expected ROI within three to five years.
