A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Dharampal Satyapal Group Case Study

DS Group built a cost effective, dynamic infrastructure that gave deeper insights on resource utilization and reduced data centre footprint by 70%

Dharampal Satyapal (DS) Group is a multi-diversified food-and-beverage manufacturer headquartered in Noida with more than 24 manufacturing units across India. Its IT team was repeatedly firefighting central datacentre issues and remote-site connectivity and needed a cost-effective, scalable way to proactively monitor and optimize infrastructure while cutting capital and operational costs.

DS Group implemented a private cloud using VMware vCloud Suite (vCloud Standard), VMware Horizon Enterprise and vRealize to consolidate datacentres and improve resource management. The move enabled running 100+ VMs on a private cloud at costs comparable to public cloud, delivered a 70% reduction in datacentre footprint, 50% lower CapEx and 30% lower OpEx, and improved scalability, resource utilization, proactive performance management and workforce productivity.
