DER Deutsches Reisebüro, part of DER Touristik and one of Europe’s leading travel providers with about 500 agencies and 2,500 employees, needed to implement PCI DSS for credit-card processing under a tight six‑month deadline. The company had to achieve compliance without disrupting operations or losing revenue during the critical pre-Christmas booking period, and the project had to be handled by a small IT team of three.

DER chose VMware NSX Data Center and VMware vRealize Network Insight (with implementation support from MightyCare) to add virtualized micro-segmentation and comprehensive logging to its existing VDI environment. The solution was rolled into production with no downtime, delivered the required PCI certification for the desktop landscape, protected peak-season revenue, avoided fines or payment restrictions, and met the deadline cost‑effectively.
