Ceridian Improves Application and Network Security with VMware

Dayforce, through its Ceridian business, needed to strengthen security for sensitive customer employee data in its HCM environment and reduce the risk of breaches as it scaled across multiple data centers and clouds. VMware helped address this challenge with VMware AppDefense, VMware NSX, and VMware vRealize Network Insight to protect Dayforce’s applications running on VMware vSphere virtual machines and improve network visibility.

VMware implemented a zero-trust approach with AppDefense for application protection and NSX for software-defined micro-segmentation across environments, while vRealize Network Insight added operational visibility. The results included stronger protection for customer information, more proactive security management, lower operational costs, and faster disaster recovery—improving Dayforce’s recovery time objective sixfold and recovery point objective fourfold.
