Cenitex and Vmware Establish Digital as the Victorian Government's ‘new Normal

Cenitex, the Victorian government’s shared ICT services agency supporting 35,000 public servants, faced ageing infrastructure, several significant outages and rising demand for fast, secure digital services. The organisation needed to modernise end-to-end—from identity and networks to workspaces—while strengthening cyber‑security, increasing automation and improving the day‑to‑day experience for government agencies and citizens.

To address this, Cenitex launched “Program Fortify” and deployed an integrated VMware software‑defined hybrid cloud stack (Validated Designs, Cloud on AWS, NSX, vSphere, vRealize, Workspace ONE/Horizon). The new environment delivers secure remote access, automated provisioning and simplified IT management, improving resilience and performance, reducing downtime and enabling faster digital services and future innovation for Victorian government agencies.
