Case Study: Bank Leumi launches Israel’s first standalone fully-mobile banking platform (Pepper) with VMware

A VMware Case Study

Preview of the Bank Leumi Case Study

Bank Leumi Launched the First Israeli Standalone Fully-Mobile Banking Platform

Bank Leumi, Israel’s second‑largest bank, launched Pepper, a standalone fully mobile banking platform to meet digitally native customers and counter growing fintech competition. The bank needed to build a mobile‑only cloud banking solution from scratch while modernizing data centers, securing mobile devices and replacing legacy IT that could not support the new platform.

Leumi implemented VMware’s software‑defined data center and workspace stack — including vCloud Suite, vSphere, NSX, Horizon and Workspace ONE — to host Pepper, enable VDI, secure devices, micro‑segment workloads and automate networking. The result was a rapid launch with strong customer uptake, modernized infrastructure and digital workspaces, faster time to market and a platform now offered to other banks.
