Axonlab Gets Swiss Medical Practices into Shape for the Future

Axonlab, a Swiss provider of diagnostic medical equipment and IT solutions, needed to modernize its practice-management software Achilles for a healthcare sector moving rapidly toward digitalisation. The company faced challenges including work‑intensive local installations, the need for standardized desktops across practices, high availability, secure patient data storage, strong performance and easy interface integration.

Axonlab partnered with Diso AG and Swiss Cloud Workplace to deliver Achilles as a cloud service on VMware Horizon DaaS and vSphere, hosting sensitive data in Swiss data centres and replacing local servers with VDI desktops. The rollout simplified installations and centralised updates and support, lowered customer costs through a subscription model, enabled easy integration of medical equipment, standardized practice environments and improved data protection — with further VMware-based projects planned.
