Alerce, a Zaragoza-based software group serving the transport and logistics sector across Latin America and Europe, needed to unify its networking and security components into a single platform to centralize management, speed up provisioning and delivery, and strengthen SaaS platform security through micro-segmentation.

Working with VMware and integration partner Anadat, Alerce migrated its SaaS platform to an infrastructure based on VMware NSX, deploying the new environment in parallel and migrating clients gradually. The result is a more agile, scalable and secure SaaS offering — provisioning that once took days or weeks now takes hours or minutes, automated micro-segmentation and distributed firewalling, reduced capital spending (up to ~70% on traditional firewall costs), faster time-to-market, and improved reliability across a 200-VM, 4-host 24x7 data center.
