Acens Brings Digital Transformation to Its Customers

acens, a Telefónica company and one of Spain’s leading hosting and cloud providers serving over 70,000 clients across Spain and Latin America, faced the challenge of driving customers’ digital transformation by delivering flexible, easy-to-consume IaaS while continuously developing new services. The company needed an infrastructure that was powerful yet simple to operate, able to scale quickly, and capable of protecting client data at multiple layers and isolating workloads to meet strict privacy and security expectations.

To meet these needs acens adopted a VMware-based, software-defined data center—using vSphere, vCenter, vCloud Director and NSX—to virtualize, automate and secure its environment. Automation reduced manual intervention and incidents while accelerating service rollout; NSX micro-segmentation added granular internal traffic control and stronger isolation; and virtualization delivered major savings in hardware, energy and space, resulting in faster innovation, improved customer service and enhanced data protection.
