Big Brain Pictures, a Bangkok-based animation studio of 15 led by founder Auchara Kijkanjanas, was commissioned to produce an almost hour‑long animation commemorating the late Thai king. With a three‑month deadline, nearly 100,000 frames to render, limited office space and insufficient in‑house compute—and offshore clouds unsuitable—the team faced a major technical and timing challenge.

Big Brain moved its pipeline to AIS’s VMware‑based IaaS, which delivered a customized, fully managed rendering platform running at nearly 100% utilization. The film was completed on deadline, avoided an estimated 10 million baht hardware outlay, delivered about a 20x cost reduction versus self‑hosting, removed IT and power‑supply headaches, enabled remote monitoring, and set the studio on a path to broader cloud adoption.
