Case Study: GAMO Cloud achieves a secure, flexible software-defined data center in two months with VMware vSAN

A VMware vSAN Case Study

Preview of the GAMO Cloud Case Study

Network and storage virtualization technologies allowed GAMO to build its superior data center in two months

GAMO Cloud, a Slovak IT services provider, faced the challenge of building a modern SDDC-based Tier III data center on a greenfield site in just two months while enabling remote administration, orchestration and stronger security than competitors. To meet these goals they chose VMware vSAN and other VMware technologies (VMware NSX, vCloud Director and vCloud Air) to virtualize storage and networks and deliver a flexible cloud platform.

By deploying VMware vSAN together with VMware NSX and vCloud Director, GAMO Cloud went from design to full operation in two months and became the first Slovak provider of public, private and hybrid cloud services based on VMware virtualization. The implementation delivered a fully flexible, scalable infrastructure, micro-segmentation security, dramatically faster network configuration (hours vs days), lower operating costs through IaaS billing, and immediate customer traction with whole-system migrations from sectors like manufacturing and healthcare.
