8x8, a provider of a Communications Cloud for enterprises, moved from a monolithic architecture to microservices and grew many autonomous development teams. This created a need for standardized, scalable visibility into dozens of performance parameters; open-source solutions proved costly to maintain and were pulling developers away from building features.

By adopting Wavefront, 8x8 enabled rapid, low-friction metric collection—over 100 engineers were emitting custom metrics within two weeks—and shifted ownership of metrics to developers and SREs.
