This created a need for standardized, scalable visibility into dozens of performance parameters; open-source solutions proved costly to maintain and were pulling developers away from building features.
By adopting Wavefront, 8x8 enabled rapid, low-friction metric collection—over 100 engineers were emitting custom metrics within two weeks—and shifted ownership of metrics to developers and SREs. The result: faster issue resolution, reduced on-call burnout, NOC-level troubleshooting, safer slow-roll releases, and the visibility needed to meet strict SLAs and catch problems before they impact customers.
