Case Study: A21 modernizes and scales global anti‑trafficking education with VMware Tanzu

A VMware Tanzu Case Study

Preview of the A21 Case Study

Leading the battle against human trafficking with an online program for teachers and students worldwide

A21 is a nonprofit dedicated to abolishing human trafficking by reaching, rescuing, and restoring victims and vulnerable people. Facing the need to turn its prevention curriculum into an effective, scalable online experience, A21 lacked internal research and development capacity and needed a solution that would work in low‑bandwidth and mobile classroom environments while aligning with school protection protocols and supporting teacher facilitation.

A21 engaged VMware Tanzu Act for an eight‑week, evidence‑based engagement that recommended a hybrid, teacher‑facilitated model delivered via a SaaS learning management system and a phased pilot in Duval County. The work produced a lean, user‑centered approach, formatted online modules and success metrics, and stronger project management capability—helping teachers feel better equipped, enabling rapid iteration, and positioning A21 to scale the curriculum sustainably.
