COUNTRY Financial, a Bloomington, Illinois–based insurer, faced slow, waterfall-driven development and manual operations that made it difficult to keep up with rapidly changing customer expectations. Typical projects took 12–18 months to reach production, and developers spent significant time on provisioning, compliance and other non‑development tasks.

To address this, COUNTRY adopted VMware Tanzu Application Service and partnered with Solstice to shift to a cloud‑native platform and agile practices (including pair programming and iterative delivery). Automation and new workflows freed developers to focus on features, enabling releases in weeks instead of years; early wins include a mobile app MVP (digital insurance card, roadside assistance, payments), higher platform adoption, increased developer efficiency and more engaged teams.
