Clover Monitors Thousands of IoT Devices with Wavefront

Clover, a maker of integrated point-of-sale terminals with more than 100,000 devices in the field, struggled to monitor device health as its fleet grew. Relying on customer service reports and returned units left the company reactive, slow and imprecise—hurting merchant satisfaction and risking revenue.

Clover rolled out Wavefront to collect and analyze OS, application and hardware metrics from its devices, giving engineers real-time visibility to detect and fix issues (for example, a software bug that made 4% of devices sluggish). The platform also informed battery and product decisions, sped phased rollouts and software releases, and reduced support calls and outages—improving margins, accelerating innovation and enabling scalable growth.
