A VMware Tanzu Case Study
Chow Sang Sang, an 80-year-old Hong Kong jewelry brand with growing online sales, faced a digital-transformation challenge: customers increasingly researched online but bought through multiple channels, leaving offline staff disengaged and systems hard to upgrade. Its decade-old standalone SAP Hybris architecture and tightly coupled internal CRM and e-commerce systems couldn’t support rapid business change, so the company needed a more agile, microservices-based omnichannel IT platform.
Chow Sang Sang partnered with Pivotal/VMware Tanzu and Dell to deploy a private-cloud, container-based foundation using VMware Enterprise PKS, Pivotal Platform/BOSH, and Dell EMC’s Pivotal Ready Architecture, plus Spring Boot/Cloud and CI/CD pipelines across three DevOps teams. The result: a hybrid, cloud-native platform that enables automated DevOps, zero-downtime upgrades, faster feature delivery for campaigns like Double 11 and smart stores, tighter online–offline integration, and a shift to data-driven, innovation-led business operations.
