The Kooperativa Insurance Company Responds Effectively To Client and Market Needs

Kooperativa is a leading Czech universal insurer (30 years, ~4,000 employees, ~2.5 million clients) and part of Vienna Insurance Group. As container use expanded from a few hundred to many more, the company faced a critical need to gain control of container orchestration to maintain time-to-market, scalability and reliability for customer-facing and internal applications, so it engaged consultant Geetoo for guidance.

Following a proof of concept, Kooperativa deployed VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated. The platform standardized orchestration, increased container adoption, sped up development and deployment, improved developer experience and high availability, and made it easier to roll out new features (for example faster claims reporting and policy tracking). The company is continuing infrastructure modernization (NSX, vSAN, cloud readiness) and sees additional benefits for cost optimization and sustainability.
