A VMware SD-WAN Case Study
Spudshed is a family-owned Western Australian produce business that grew from a market garden into a group operating farms and 25 sites across the state. Rapid expansion exposed a fragmented, slow IT network—dial-up speeds, frequent outages and manual, ad hoc administration—that threatened store operations and the farm‑to‑basket supply chain.
Macquarie Telecom deployed VMware SD‑WAN across 25 sites, replacing single MPLS links with combinations of fibre, NBN and 4G (minimum two links with 4G backup, some sites using three links) and using multipath routing to send traffic over the fastest path. The result: faster, more consistent connectivity, reliable cloud and real‑time apps, glitch‑free voice/video, remote site configuration without technicians, and faster store rollouts that protect productivity and the supply chain.
