POSCO DX Expands Business with VMware Horizon VDI

POSCO DX, a South Korea–based digital transformation and industrial-robotics integrator, needed to pivot from ad-hoc, revenue-based system integration to a subscription-based “Everything‑as‑a‑Service” model and support a distributed workforce. The company faced complex multi-cloud infrastructure, degraded performance for SaaS apps on its existing VDI, cumbersome authentication tied to strict data-protection rules, and the need to implement Zero Trust security without harming employee productivity.

POSCO DX deployed VMware’s full‑stack VDI (Horizon) with VMware Cloud on AWS, Tanzu, and SD‑WAN to deliver passwordless FIDO authentication, consistent UX across devices, micro‑segmentation, and automated VDI lifecycle management. The result was faster logins (from 2–3 minutes to under a minute), improved video/collaboration performance, lower costs and operational overhead, better endpoint security and energy efficiency, and a scalable DaaS foundation POSCO DX will expand across POSCO Group affiliates.
