Case Study: The Kleingers Group achieves fast, reliable terabyte-sized file transfers with VMware SD-WAN

A VMware SD-WAN Case Study

Preview of the The Kleingers Group Case Study

Multiple Divisions Transmitting Terabyte-sized Files is No Match for SD-WAN

The Kleingers Group is an Ohio-based civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture firm with more than 100 employees across multiple offices and divisions (including Civil 3D and Truescan 3D drone mapping) that routinely produces very large project files—sometimes up to terabytes in size. Its legacy point-to-point network (15 MB links), mixed vendors and a traditional PBX proved unreliable and slow, severely hindering site-to-site file transfers and overall productivity.

Working with CBTS, The Kleingers Group deployed VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud) in a hub-and-spoke design to connect offices and datacenters. The result was a dramatic increase in usable bandwidth (from 15 MB to tens or even hundreds of MB, with optimization via Dynamic Multipath Optimization), reliable transfer of terabyte-sized files, faster office turn‑ups, simpler network management, significant cost savings, and a future-proof platform to support growth.
