Case Study: Rentokil Initial achieves centralized global network management and increased bandwidth with VMware SD-WAN

A VMware SD-WAN Case Study

Preview of the Rentokil Initial Case Study

Globally Unifying and Centralizing Network Management and Visibility

Rentokil Initial, a global pest control and hygiene services company with 35,000 employees in 70 countries and over 800 sites using mixed transports (MPLS, broadband, DSL and site VPNs), faced rapidly changing traffic patterns as cloud and Google apps drove internet-bound traffic from 20% to 80%. The legacy WAN and costly MPLS backhaul could not economically deliver the increased bandwidth, consistent user experience or centralized control the business required.

Rentokil deployed VMware SD‑WAN by VeloCloud in phased, self-managed rollouts, using SD‑WAN Edges and a centralized Orchestrator to simplify configuration, automate updates and consolidate routing/firewall functions. The result was a unified corporate network with centralized visibility and management, increased bandwidth without added transport cost, elimination of costly on‑premises hardware in many sites, and a scalable, future‑proof architecture for global growth.
