BGE, a civil engineering firm with 12 offices and a mobile workforce, needed a more agile network to support expanding offices, temporary job-site locations, and a shift of critical applications and data to Azure and AWS. Its legacy mix of MPLS and VPN over public broadband caused frequent outages, slow deployments for pop-up sites, limited bandwidth efficiency, and impaired cloud application access.

BGE partnered with Meriplex to deploy VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud, creating redundant, co‑managed connectivity and “office-in-a-box” kits that let new sites come online in minutes via LTE. The SD‑WAN doubled effective bandwidth, streamlined access to cloud apps (including O365, Skype for Business, ERP and global file systems), provided network-wide visibility through the Orchestrator, and eliminated outages—improving business continuity and speeding site turnup.
