Brooks Brothers - Customer Case Study

Brooks Brothers, the United States’ oldest clothing retailer with nearly 500 stores and global offices, faced a fragmented, high-cost network built on MPLS, bonded T1/DS3 and DSL that backhauled traffic to regional data centers. The legacy topology and limited bandwidth caused periodic outages that disrupted in-store transactions, slow image-heavy online browsing, and placed heavy operational strain on a six-person IT team as the company looked to scale and modernize.

Brooks Brothers piloted and then rolled out VMware SD‑WAN by VeloCloud, preconfiguring Edges at headquarters and deploying broadband/LTE backups in stores for fast, one-hour installs. The solution delivered sub-second failover, direct secure Internet access for fast in-store browsing, simplified and rapid store onboarding, centralized visibility and traffic segmentation, and the ability to migrate to VoIP without additional phone switches—improving uptime, performance, and manageability.
