A VMware SD-WAN Case Study
Mission Australia, a national non-profit supporting disadvantaged children and families across 210 sites, was constrained by an expensive, low‑bandwidth MPLS backbone that backhauled traffic to a central data center. The network suffered poor visibility, inconsistent broadband redundancy, and limited ability to support a planned move of its ERP and other applications to Azure and AWS while maintaining QoS and data security.
Working with Coevolve, Mission Australia replaced MPLS with VMware SD‑WAN (orchestrator, gateways and branch edges) and integrated cloud security services, completing rollout in seven to eight months. The new design delivered centralized management and faster cloud access, increased bandwidth fivefold, enabled cloud services at every site, and cut transport costs by about 30% while simplifying operations and improving security.
