Using AirWatch BYOD, NV Energy Supplies Mobile Power to Employees

NV Energy, a large Nevada utility serving more than 2 million customers, needed a secure way to manage corporate communication and mobile devices as employees increasingly wanted access to email, calendars, and contacts on personal phones and tablets. The company turned to VMware AirWatch and its mobile device management (MDM) and BYOD capabilities to support a growing mobile workforce while protecting corporate data.

With VMware AirWatch, NV Energy was able to offer employees secure access to corporate email and other business apps on a wider range of devices, including Android and Apple iOS, while enforcing IT security policies and keeping personal and work data separate. The solution integrated with existing Microsoft Exchange and Junos Pulse VPN services, improved flexibility for employees, and delivered strong pre- and post-sale support; the case study also notes support for 500–1,000 devices.
