U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Deploys AirWatch to Aid Natural Disaster Victims

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partnered with VMware AirWatch to speed up emergency home-repair processing for natural disaster victims. Previously, inspectors relied on paper claim forms and a slow central routing process, delaying assistance for homeowners whose roofs, windows, or entryways were damaged.

VMware AirWatch helped the USACE implement the Blue Roof mobile app and manage a fleet of more than 120 mobile devices for mobile data collection and case assignment. The solution replaced paper with digital signatures and real-time alerts, cutting claim routing from two to three days down to minutes, while also supporting dashboards, device management, and remote wipe capabilities to protect sensitive data.
