UC College of Nursing Redesigns Course Delivery with iPads Managed by AirWatch

The UC College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati wanted a better way to manage its growing fleet of iPads and simplify app distribution for faculty and students. After using SharePoint lists and manual app code distribution, the college looked for a mobile device management solution that could scale with its long-term mobility plans. VMware AirWatch was selected for its support across multiple device types and its MDM/MAM capabilities.

Using VMware AirWatch, the college enrolled nearly 500 devices, supported a BYOD program, and automated app distribution and device configuration. The result was broader adoption of iPads in teaching and learning, streamlined grading, improved collaboration, and significant savings from replacing paper textbooks with e-books. VMware AirWatch also helped UC College of Nursing securely integrate mobile tools like FaceTime, iBooks, and AppleTV into course delivery and simulation-based learning.
