The Italian Army Foreign Language School Adopts AirWatch to Enable Mobile Learning

The Italian Army Foreign Language School, which provides military language education in Italy, wanted a better way to centrally manage and secure its growing fleet of iPads while supporting digital learning across two locations. After finding Apple Configurator too limited for its needs, the school looked for a more flexible mobile management platform and selected VMware AirWatch.

VMware AirWatch implemented enterprise mobility management and mobile application management to control more than 200 iOS devices, enforce user-based restrictions, and remotely deploy multilingual educational apps from the Apple App Store and Apple Volume Purchase Program. The solution enabled faster device provisioning, centralized administration, and support for interactive teaching via HDMI and AirPlay, while the school plans to extend VMware AirWatch to Windows PCs and explore Teacher Tools.
