St. Edward’s Mobilizes Students and Faculty with AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management

St. Edward’s University, a Texas-based higher education institution, wanted to move beyond BlackBerry devices and support a growing BYOD environment while keeping student and faculty data secure. The university needed a device-agnostic enterprise mobility management solution with centralized, role-based control to manage phones and tablets across campus, and turned to VMware AirWatch for help.

Using VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management, including MDM, MAM, and Secure Content Locker capabilities, St. Edward’s secured and managed its mobility program across more than 160 university-owned smartphones and 90 tablets. The university enforced password and encryption policies, enabled remote lock/wipe/locate, and used app management to push department apps and build an internal campus app; the result was stronger security, simpler administration, and better support for mobile users.
