Skanska Builds Enterprise Mobility Around AirWatch’s Secure Solution

Skanska, a global construction company, needed a secure and easy-to-use way to manage a growing fleet of more than 2,000 smartphones and tablets used by employees in the field. After evaluating other mobile device management providers, Skanska chose VMware AirWatch for enterprise mobility management because of its ease of enrollment, strong security controls, Active Directory integration, and support for pushing apps to users.

With VMware AirWatch’s MDM, MAM, and Secure Email Gateway features, Skanska was able to enforce corporate-only email access, remotely wipe lost or stolen devices, manage Wi-Fi and roaming, and distribute company-developed apps through its internal “company store.” The result was improved productivity, more efficient remote work, and reduced phone and roaming costs, with Skanska planning to expand VMware AirWatch globally as its standard MDM solution.
