Siemens fosters a culture of open collaboration to connect employees globally with Socialcast

Siemens Healthineers, a global engineering and electronics leader with a massive distributed workforce, needed a way to speed up collaboration, improve connectivity, and better capture employee expertise across regions while maintaining security. VMware AirWatch helped address these challenges with Socialcast, an enterprise social network designed to support secure, companywide communication and collaboration.

VMware AirWatch implemented Socialcast to provide a flexible, scalable on-premise solution that later migrated to vCloud Air, giving Siemens Healthineers easier updates, lower maintenance, and reduced costs. The platform enabled real-time collaboration, knowledge sharing, and faster problem-solving across the organization, with 155,000 active members creating more than 10,000 groups. Adoption continued to grow, while Siemens also reported improved productivity, reduced IT support tickets, and stronger employee satisfaction and retention.
