Satmex Connects Employees and Clients with Mobility Powered by AirWatch

Satmex, a Mexico-based satellite operator serving customers across the Americas, needed an enterprise mobility management solution to connect its Mexico City headquarters with mobile employees worldwide while protecting sensitive information under strict industry security standards. After evaluating leading vendors, Satmex selected VMware AirWatch to support device management and its BYOD program, with a focus on secure communication, compliance, and centralized control.

VMware AirWatch was deployed on premise at Satmex’s headquarters to manage about 120 tablets and smartphones, including employee-owned devices. The solution provided device location and remote profile management, automated Wi‑Fi password updates, software inventory visibility, and secure access to corporate Wi‑Fi from personal devices. Satmex reported a quick three-day installation, improved employee satisfaction, and plans to extend VMware AirWatch with Secure Content Locker to enable secure internal content sharing without relying on external cloud providers.
