Norfolk City Public Schools Gives AirWatch an A+ in Mobile Device Management

Norfolk Public Schools, a Virginia school system with more than 45 elementary, middle, and high schools, needed a way to manage a mobile deployment of over 4,000 school-issued devices. With limited IT resources, the district wanted an easy-to-use mobile device management solution that could track devices, report data, and support secure email capabilities. VMware AirWatch was selected to address these needs.

VMware AirWatch implemented its MDM platform with multi-tenant architecture and asset tracking features, allowing Norfolk Public Schools to manage devices by role, location, and user group while keeping visibility across the fleet. After a short proof of concept and rollout, the district was able to manage its entire mobile environment more efficiently, track inventory, and monitor usage, giving IT a complete picture of its mobile investments.
