A VMware AirWatch Case Study
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, a Pennsylvania hospitality and gaming destination, needed a way to secure and scale its mobile fleet as it moved beyond BlackBerry devices and expanded its operations, including a new hotel with iPad-equipped guest rooms. The resort also wanted flexibility to support BYOD across different operating systems while keeping staff connected throughout the property. It turned to VMware AirWatch, an enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform, to help manage the transition.
With VMware AirWatch, Mohegan Sun manages more than 400 iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches used by staff and guest rooms, including kiosk-mode iPads that power in-room services like menus, web browsing, and requests for pillows or towels. The solution enabled secure BYOD enrollment, remote wipe capabilities, VPN access to corporate apps, and centralized control of third-party applications. The result was improved guest experience, better staff connectivity, and positive feedback on the in-room technology, while giving the resort a scalable mobility strategy for future growth.
