LJ Aviation Jets Ahead with AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management and App Oversight

L.J. Aviation, a charter jet company with more than 20 jets, needed a secure way to manage electronic flight bags while meeting FAA requirements for approved apps and protected flight manuals. To solve this challenge, the company turned to VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management, using its app oversight and content security capabilities to control what pilots could install and access on their tablets.

With VMware AirWatch, L.J. Aviation deployed Secure Content Locker to store and distribute over 1.5 gigabytes of aircraft-specific manuals, certificates, and operational documents, while the AirWatch App Catalogue helped the team approve and remove apps as needed. The solution also included GPS locating for misplaced devices and dramatically reduced manual update time: what once took six hours could now be completed with a button push, saving many man hours and improving efficiency.
