Latymer Upper School Bridges Traditional Learning Environments with Digital Classrooms

Latymer Upper School, a fully digitalized UK school for students aged 11–18, needed a better way to manage iPads in the classroom and keep them focused on educational use. With many teachers still preferring traditional methods, the school wanted to improve staff adoption of mobile learning while preventing distractions like unrestricted App Store access. It turned to VMware AirWatch for enterprise mobility management, including mobile device management and app catalog control.

Using VMware AirWatch, Latymer Upper School enrolled 500 iPads, blocked App Store access, approved apps centrally, and disabled notifications during lessons. The school also used AirWatch to support content sharing and assignment workflows, which reduced the review process from days to less than a day and improved feedback turnaround for students.
