Henry Ford Health System Implements BYOD Initiative Powered by AirWatch

Henry Ford Health System, one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems, needed to modernize its mobility strategy as clinical applications moved from BlackBerry devices to iOS and Android. To support a growing demand for tablets and employee-owned devices while still meeting strict regulatory and corporate requirements, HFHS evaluated enterprise mobility management platforms and selected VMware AirWatch.

VMware AirWatch was implemented to manage and secure approximately 3,200 corporate-owned devices and 2,500 personal devices, with user-driven enrollment, Active Directory integration, email access controls, remote wipe capabilities, and app distribution through the AirWatch App Catalog. The solution helped HFHS enforce password protection, encryption, and compliance policies while enabling BYOD readiness, and the organization reported fast enrollment and a seamless fit into its environment.
