Girls’ Day School Trust Engages the Next Generation of Girls with Mobile Education

The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), the UK’s leading group of independent girls’ schools, needed a better way to manage nearly 20,000 mobile devices across its network while reducing the time burden on IT staff. As students increasingly used mobile devices for learning at school and at home, GDST looked for an enterprise mobility management solution to simplify administration and help keep devices secure; it chose VMware AirWatch.

VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management gave GDST centralized visibility and control while allowing local administrators to manage devices at individual schools. The solution helped streamline app and device management, supported internet filtering for safer student use, and improved collaboration between students and teachers. GDST reported higher pupil engagement, positive parent support, and better control for both educational and corporate devices across nearly 4,000 staff.
