A VMware AirWatch Case Study
Flair Airlines, a North American passenger charter and workforce transportation carrier with more than 150 planes, needed a secure way to move from paper flight manuals to digital Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) on tablets. As aviation regulations required strict supervision and compliance, the airline turned to VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management to help distribute flight manuals, company documents, memos, flight packages, and weather apps while keeping sensitive information secure.
VMware AirWatch implemented Secure Content Locker, Mobile Application Management, and Mobile Email Management to push and update manuals, apps, email, contacts, and calendars across pilots’ tablets. The solution let Flair Airlines track which manuals were being used, support offline access in remote locations, and keep devices password protected, saving the company time and thousands of dollars per year in printing and shipping costs while ensuring pilots always had the latest documents.
