Duke University Football Scores Touchdown with Tablets Managed with AirWatch

Duke University Football, part of Duke Athletics in North Carolina, was looking for a better way to manage its growing fleet of 125 iPads used by players, coaches, and support staff. The team wanted to replace heavy paper playbooks, binders, and DVDs with a digital solution that would be easier to update, more mobile, and more secure. VMware AirWatch was selected to help manage the devices and the Playbook for iPad app from Global Aptitude.

Using VMware AirWatch mobile device and application management, Duke Football pre-configured iPads with playbooks, schedules, medical information, email, and video content, while also enabling passcode protection and remote wipe capabilities. The result was faster device deployment, improved security, and significant time and cost savings, including thousands of dollars saved in copy costs. AirWatch also helped coaches share information instantly, making the team more efficient and better prepared.
