David’s Bridal Empowers Employees with Apple iPod Touches

David’s Bridal, Inc., a retail leader with more than 300 stores across North America, needed a more strategic mobility program than its existing BlackBerry-based email setup. The company wanted to support iPhones, a bring-your-own-device initiative, and company-managed iPod touches running a custom corporate app for store employees. VMware AirWatch was selected to provide mobile device management and broader enterprise mobility support.

With VMware AirWatch, David’s Bridal deployed a scalable SaaS-based MDM/MAM solution with centralized management, real-time monitoring, multitenancy, and security controls like password protection and remote wipe. The company rolled out a custom mobile app on 500 iPod touches across 300 bridal stores, enabling employees to check prices, inventory, and product data in real time, improving speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
