Cramlington Learning Village Selects AirWatch to Transform Mobile Learning

Cramlington Learning Village, a large specialist science and vocational school in North East England, wanted to expand its mobile learning program but faced challenges managing hundreds of student-owned Android tablets. Students were frequently losing devices or leaving them at home, and the school needed better control over approved content, Wi‑Fi settings, GPS tracking, and usage policies. To address this, Cramlington chose VMware AirWatch enterprise mobility management.

Using VMware AirWatch, Cramlington automatically enrolled devices, silently deployed required apps and settings, and enforced approved learning resources through secure device management and geofencing. The school also gained location tracking, remote certificate installation, and usage reporting, helping it locate missing devices and lock down tablets on campus while keeping them open for personal use off-site. The deployment was successful enough that Cramlington planned to extend VMware AirWatch to additional year groups and staff devices.
