A VMware AirWatch Case Study
The City of South Bend, a government organization in Indiana, needed a more efficient and secure way to support a mobile workforce while staying within a limited budget. Working with VMware AirWatch, the city looked for a mobility solution that would give employees quick access to email, city maps, record-keeping tools, and custom applications for field work.
Using VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management, South Bend deployed and managed more than 50 iPads with MDM and MAM capabilities. The city was able to push app updates over the air instead of manually provisioning devices, cutting application provisioning time from seven hours to just a few minutes and saving an estimated $5,000 per year in IT resource time. AirWatch also helped inspectors double their productivity in the field while supporting the city’s vacant property initiative and open data efforts.
